For the last few months over 2,400 National Guard Servicemembers have been deployed to the southern border in response to the state of emergency declared by President Trump. The men and women of the National Guard that have answered the call to service are operating under a 502(f) training status for months at a time. It’s clear to us and the Servicemembers on the ground that their mission is operational in nature and not training.

SOAA is calling on Congress, The Pentagon, and the White House to ensure that every man and woman in uniform receives the same pay and benefits regardless of whether they are Active Duty or part of the Reserve Component. Those who are performing the same mission deserve the same benefits! For this reason, we echo the recent calls on Capitol Hill to ensure that, “Every day in uniform counts.”
