We are proud to welcome Leslie Shedd to our board of advisors. Leslie has served as a senior advisor to Members of Congress, U.S. Senate and U.S. Presidential candidates, and top trade associations for over 15 years. Shedd currently serves as the president of Rising Communications, a public relations firm focussing on national security issues, and as a nonresident fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center. Before this, Shedd served as the communications director for the House Foreign Affairs Committee and senior advisor to Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX).
Our Executive Director, @David Cook, had this to say: “We are excited to welcome Leslie to our Board of Advisors. She brings over a decade of experience from both the legislative and executive branches of government. SOAA has had the privilege of working with Leslie in her most recent role on Chairman McCaul’s staff and we’re looking forward to continuing the strengthen national security through advocacy towards the Hill.”
“I am honored to join the Special Operations Association of America in their mission to elevate the voices of the Special Operations community,” stated Shedd. “More than 99 percent of combat operations are conducted by Special Operations Forces, so it is crucial that they have a voice in the decisions being made in Washington because they understand the landscape and have first-hand experience. I look forward to working with SOAA as they continue to advocate for the SOF community and for a safer, more secure world.”
