The Special Operations Association of America (SOAA) is proud to announce a partnership with HOP Munitions, a veteran-owned ammunition manufacturer, to advance national conversations around responsible firearm ownership, safe storage, and mental health awareness.

Together, SOAA and HOP Munitions will engage both the veteran and civilian shooting communities through education, storytelling, and advocacy–helping Americans approach firearms with responsibility, knowledge, and care for one another.

A Shared Mission: Protecting Lives and Strengthening Community

SOAA represents the men and women of U.S. Special Operations–individuals who understand that firearms safety and mental readiness are inseparable from mission readiness. This collaboration reflects SOAA’s ongoing commitment to improving veteran wellness, suicide prevention, and responsible gun culture across the country.

“For our community, responsible firearm ownership isn’t an abstract issue–it’s personal,” said Daniel Elkins, Executive Director of SOAA. “We’ve seen what happens when mental health goes unaddressed. Through this partnership, we aim to educate, reduce stigma, and build a stronger culture of care and accountability.”

Turning Experience into Education

Through a series of joint articles, discussions, and community events, SOAA and HOP Munitions will address key topics at the intersection of firearm use and human performance, including:

  • Safe firearm storage and accident prevention
  • Recognizing early signs of PTSD or suicidal ideation
  • Understanding the effects of blast overpressure and hearing loss
  • Encouraging peer intervention and community engagement

These initiatives will bring together experts in medicine, training, and behavioral health to help both veterans and civilians make informed, responsible choices about firearm ownership and usage.

Empowering the 2nd Amendment and Veteran Communities Through Awareness

For SOAA, this partnership underscores a broader goal: empowering America’s veterans to lead the conversation on responsibility, safety, and resilience within the Second Amendment community.

By bridging the gap between the firearms industry and the veteran community, SOAA seeks to elevate safety standards while supporting holistic approaches to wellness. HOP Munitions’ commitment to high-quality, American-made ammunition and veteran advocacy aligns directly with that mission.

“Change doesn’t start in Washington–it starts within communities,” said Elkins. “When manufacturers, veterans, and mental health advocates work together, we create a more informed, more compassionate, and ultimately safer culture around firearms.”

A Partnership with Purpose

This partnership between SOAA and HOP Munitions is more than collaboration–it’s a call to action. Together, the organizations will use their combined platforms to amplify education, safety, and veteran wellness, ensuring that responsible firearm ownership remains central to America’s national identity.
