Advocacy takes years. People need help now. SOAA runs programs that help operators and their families in practical ways. Every program has been built by and for operators. If you served, this is where to find help or plug in. If you didn’t, this is what your support pays for.

Physical & Mental Health

Years of service take a toll on the brain and body, and for operators the damage often stays hidden until it’s too late. We fund testing for veteran operators, help them get care, and push the Pentagon and the VA to adopt screening standards that catch injury early, when it’s treatable. We work with leading research institutions, including Ivy League medical centers, on treatments beyond the conventional: plant-based medicines, peptides, hyperbaric oxygen, hormone replacement, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Our goal is simple: Fewer operators lost to suicide, and more of them home, healthy, and whole. Losing faith in traditional medicine should never cost someone their life.

Transition & Reintegration

Leaving the unit shouldn’t mean starting over. We help transitioning service members through the maze of veteran resources, pairing them with mentors, and building a community of operators going through the same thing. We guide them toward opportunities that value and appreciate the decades of experience that have made them successful on and off the battlefield. We connect operators to accelerated undergraduate and graduate degree pathways. For operators who want to build something of their own, we provide the mentorship, expertise, and network to do it.

Community Support

Every day, we honor our commitment to the special operations community, past and present. For members of the community experiencing financial hardship, SOAA provides case by case support and connects members with partner organizations that can meet additional needs.

Crisis Response

When Americans or our allies are trapped abroad, our network of former operators moves alongside the State Department, Department of War, and other partners.  When Kabul fell in 2021, our network helped bring nearly 5,000 people to safety, while our team held 200-plus meetings with congressional offices demanding answers on the fall of Kabul, the botched evacuation, and special immigration visas. In 2022 Ukraine followed: medical equipment, humanitarian aid, and lifesaving training with combat first aid and landmine clearing workshops. In 2023 and 2024 our teams helped hundreds of Americans get out of Israel and Gaza, working with the State Department.

We remain ready to step in when America needs us next.
