Dr. Reynaldo Baviera is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL operator with over 26 years of active-duty service, including multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. A native of Hawaii who rose through the foster care system, Rey’s career is a testament to resilience and mission-driven leadership. He currently serves as an Intelligence Planner for the U.S. Space Force-Space, where he specializes in multi-domain readiness and strategic synchronization.
An accomplished Warrior-Scholar, Rey holds a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California, a master’s in international relations from American University, and a BS in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University.
Beyond his academic and professional accomplishments, he is a dedicated advocate for veteran wellness. He helped to establish the Veteran Village of San Diego’s Bible studies program, providing theological instruction and mentorship to veterans transitioning from homelessness, substance abuse, and incarceration, volunteering as the lead Bible teacher and theologian. Following eighteen months of dedicated instruction in youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he now serves as a tournament coach, guiding the next generation of youth athletes through the rigors of competition. Rey is a 2016 Fellow of The Honor Foundation and has spoken as a keynote-speaker to under-privilege and high-risk youth on overcoming adversity on multiple occasions.
